The jaguar sits at the top of the food chain with virtually no predators. It is the third largest feline in the world (second to tigers and lions). The largely solitary jaguar spends its days wandering opportunistically through thick forest undergrowth until it comes across a prey animal to slowly stalk, until just the right moment to attack.
We are reminded to set clear intentions, and then to move forward with certainty, even though our intention may have not yet manifested.
Jaguars have clearly defined territories and usually respect the boundaries of neighbouring felines. They have extraordinary hearing and have the ability to move through the forest silently while stalking their prey.
The Jaguar has a strong association to waterways, which allows for them to seek prey easily in clearings around creeks, rivers and waterholes and catch their prey off guard. They are a stalk and ambush predator with an exceptionally powerful bite. They have the ability to directly bite down into the skull, break the spin or suffocate their prey, a teacher of being straight to the point to alleviate confusion, pain or suffering.
This majestic big cat sends us the message to envision the desired outcome, practice patience and calculated risk into reaching your target, when you feel an urge in your body to go for it, to leap forward into your power and to achieve your outcome with maximum impact and minimal effort.
