The peacock is one of the most beautiful and worshipped birds in the animal kingdom, representing beauty, passion, inspiration, pride and intuition. He has the most extravagant physical appearance and behaviours.
The peacocks courtship displays involve the bird fanning out his feathers and quivering them while performing a mesmerising dance to the female.
He teaches us that it is ok to parade our accomplishments around from time to time, showcasing our skills, talents and many glorious traits - but to know the right time to do so. Much like he would do to attract the other sex or protect himself, the peacock instructs us never be afraid to present our fullest most flamboyant, confident and inspiring aspects to those who we wish to ‘win’ over. When we feel threatened or criticised, the peacock invites us to stand up for what we have worked hard for and to be proud of who we are and what we stand for.
The key message here is in the balance, and knowing when to move from one energy mode into another, seamlessly and with grace. Through symbols, he teaches us that it takes many repetitious steps to fully awaken to our most spiritual selves - in our spiritual practice, in our daily rituals and
lifestyle changes.
He is the true gate keeper to our pride - peacocks allow us to show off our true colours and to see the beauty that is all around us, acting as inspirational guides to those who are drawn to our unique plumage and captivating offerings in this world.
Once we collect the wisdom we seek, we are then guided to showcase this to the world, proud of our story, our journey and of our accomplishments and to never apologise for how beautiful, powerful, wise and or talented we are.
